A QR code menu for bars and pubs
Updated
Bar menus change constantly: a keg runs dry, a guest beer arrives, the cocktail list rotates with the season. Printed drinks lists and chalkboards rarely keep up, and small print is hard to read in a dim room.
Make it readable in low light
Choose a dark menu theme so the page does not glare in a dark room. On menulink.live the After Dark theme uses light text on charcoal with amber highlights, designed for exactly this.
Keep taps and specials current
When a keg kicks, mark it sold out from your phone behind the bar. When a guest beer goes on, add it with its price and a one-line tasting note. Guests always see what is actually pouring.
Organise the list the way people order
Categories that work well for bars:
- On tap
- Bottles and cans
- Cocktails
- Wine by the glass
- Soft drinks
- Bar snacks
Where to put the code
Put a code on every table and on the bar itself, at the spot where people wait to order. Coasters and table tents both work; test that the code scans under your actual lighting before printing a batch.
