How to add your menu to Google Maps
Updated
Before people visit a restaurant, most of them look it up on Google. If your profile has a menu link, they can check dishes and prices right there instead of guessing or going somewhere that shows its menu.
Google Business Profile lets food and drink businesses add a menu link. Here is how to do it and how to keep that link useful.
Before you start
You need two things:
- A Google Business Profile for your restaurant that you own or manage.
- A menu link that works on phones. A menulink.live address such as yourcafe.menulink.live is ideal because it never changes, even when your menu does.
Add the menu link
Search for your business on Google or open it in Google Maps while signed in to the account that manages it. Choose Edit profile, then Business information, then Contact. Paste your menu address into the Menu link field and save.
Google says changes can take 24 to 48 hours to appear on Maps and Search. If the menu link option is missing, your business category may not be a food and drink category; check the category in the same Edit profile screen.
Why a live menu link beats uploading photos of your menu
You can also upload photos of a printed menu, but they go stale the moment a price changes, and they are hard to read on a phone. A link to a live menu always shows today's prices and which dishes are sold out.
Keep it working
Never change the link itself. Update the menu behind it instead. With menulink.live, edits go live as soon as you save, so the link on Google stays accurate without you touching your profile again.
